In a season that seeks to slow down progress and performance, it is necessary for everyone to reach into the depths of themselves you will need to reach beyond the surface and tap into your mind power to deploy your best work. The benefits in this season will be for those you can call on their mind power for maximum performance. Here are three key factors that will help position your mind for maximum performance.

Decide its direction

The direction your mind goes is like the signals of an internal compass. These signals could be negative or positive and you must constantly watch out for them because they determine your state of mind and your state of mind determines your performance. Same person, same capacity, but different states of mind will produce different results. To determine the direction of your mind requires clarifying your beliefs. When beliefs and principles are clear, the mind is well directed and performs like a well-oiled machine, without friction. It does not receive mixed signals and therefore it avoids crisis and eliminates uncertainty. This state of clarity reinforces self-worth and self-esteem.

Decide its diet

Our minds, like our bodies, need feeding, so determine your mind’s diet ahead of time. As in the realm of physical fitness, nobody leaves his or her diet to chance and expects a great body and fitness level. In the same way you cannot leave the diet of your mind to chance. Whatever you feed your mind is what it is going to produce. Your mental diet will largely determine your mental state, consequently determining your outcome in life.

Detoxic it

To manage your mind for peak performance, you need to free your mind from worry, anxiety, and mental fatigue. Worry burns more mental energy than work does. It suffocates and stifles creativity. It acts as a mental speed bump, retarding progress. Have you ever driven your car with your handbrake on? Although you are in motion, you feel the drag. This is what happens when you allow worry, anxiety, and fatigue to settle in your mind. When you disengage your handbrake, what a relief you feel; momentum is gained for progress. Mike Murdock says, ‘Faith walks out when fatigue sets in.’ Decide to be happy; decide to be enthusiastic, because your mental state will reflect on your well being.
